Meringue Nests with Lemon Curd, Strawberries and Lemon Caramel


Dessert is a crispy, fluffy meringue that’s scented with a hint of nutmeg. Fashioned into nests, the meringue is filled with lemon curd and sliced berries and embellished with a lemon-caramel sauce for a mouthwatering treat that’s crunchy, creamy, tart and sweet. For those avoiding eggs, the sauce works magic drizzled over dairy-free ice cream. Try to find Meyer lemons (about 6 large) for this ethereal dessert. They have a lovely floral fragrance and flavor. For an egg-free dessert, drizzle lemon caramel sauce over ice cream of choice and top with berries. For a dairy-free dessert, omit the whipping cream from the lemon curd.
