Traditional shepherd’s pie made with fatty beef and white potatoes is far from a nutritional standout. This Sweet Potato Turnip Shepherd’s Pie version gets a health and flavor upgrade courtesy of the sweet potato topping, an infusion of vegetables and the use of rich-tasting lean lamb. If desired, replace lamb with lean ground turkey or chicken.
