Gluten-Free Raisin Spice Ham Glaze Recipe

Ham is a festive choice for a brunch menu. For a small crowd (under 10 people), ask your local deli to cut thick slices of your favorite gluten-free ham. For a larger group, buy a gluten-free prepared ham that’s already cooked and sliced.

Gluten-free Raisin Spice Glaze makes about 3 cups.

Ingredients:

2 pounds gluten-free deli ham sliced ¼-inch thick, or 1 (3-5 pound) gluten-free prepared ham
1½ cups water
½ cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons potato starch (not potato flour)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 cup raisins
Zest of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
Pinch of ground cloves
Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

1. Warm ham in the oven according to package instructions.

2. To make Raisin Spice Glaze, heat water, brown sugar and potato starch in a saucepan until dissolved. Stir in mustard, raisins, lemon zest, lemon juice and spices. Add salt and pepper, to taste.

3. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until sauce boils and begins to thicken, about 15 minutes.

4. Drizzle warm glaze over the ham and serve.
