Gluten-Free Bacon-Wrapped Bleu Cheese Dates

This hors d’oeuvre calls out sweet, salty, smoky and savory notes. Make a double batch, as these dates will disappear quickly.

Ingredients

  • 24 dried, pitted dates
  • 4 ounces bleu cheese or non-dairy alternative
  • 12 strips bacon, halved crosswise

Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

2Cut a lengthwise slit in each date and stuff with 1 teaspoon bleu cheese. Squeeze the date shut and wrap tightly with bacon, using a toothpick to secure each date.

3Place dates on prepared baking sheets, seam side down, and cook in preheated oven until bacon is crispy, about 12 to 15 minutes. Halfway through, turn dates over to cook evenly.

4Remove from oven. Allow dates to cool and serve at room temperature.
