A Canadian research team investigated how common it is for fish and shellfish allergies to resolve over time. These allergies constitute the majority of anaphylactic reactions seen in adults. The small study (63 participants) found that these allergies are rarely outgrown, with the condition becoming resolved in less than 1 percent of participants.

The study was published in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice.
