Rover, All Over : Dog with Allergies
On the road with your allergic dog
According to the U.S. Travel Association, 14 percent of American adults have taken a pet with them on a trip of over 50 miles in the last three years. Hotels and motels can be a problem for allergic dogs, says Karen Moriello, DVM, a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and a faculty member at the University of Wisconsins School of Veterinary Medicine. Moriello points out that pollen, mold, dust and other substances found in these places can cause issues for sensitive dogs.
