These bagels are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, just like a beautiful New York bagel. We recommend them enthusiastically. They deserve rave reviews. Until recently, you had to travel to Portland, Oregon, to taste them. New Cascadia now ships its bagels, baguettes and breads to your door (for a pretty penny).
These store-brand bagels are remarkably similar to Udi’s, with a slightly crunchy outside and a soft bready texture on the inside. They’re less expensive than most mainstream bagel brands. If you have a Trader Joe’s near you, you’re in luck.
We love the taste of these bagels. They’re chewy with just a touch of sweetness from the sorghum flour. The Greater Knead is available in select markets across the United States.
Widely distributed, Udi’s bagels are available in grocery stores across the country, as well as in many restaurants and hotels. Very good when toasted, these bagels are a staple in our kitchen.
These New Grains bagels are fluffy, a bit like hamburger buns. Wonderful flavor. Available in select markets in Utah. A must-have if you’re anywhere near Salt Lake City.
We love the taste of these chewy bagels, with a hint of sorghum sweetness. Unfortunately, they’re not as widely available as Canyon Bakehouse’s high-quality bread. Look for these bagels in the refrigerated or frozen section or on bakery shelves in their stay-fresh shelf-stable packaging.
There are only a handful of paleo bagel brands and they’re not widely available. These bagels from Bedrock Bakers are standouts, available online. Cassava flour and almond flour produce a mild-tasting “pagel” that might easily be mistaken for a grain-filled bagel. We only wish these bagels were bigger and less expensive to ship.
