Best Finds of Expo West 2018 with Gluten Free & More Magazine

Every year we walk the aisles of Expo West, the biggest trade show in the USA for natural products – including gluten-free. There were over 80,000 attendees and over 3,000 vendors (many of which are gluten-free!). Needless to say, our feet still hurt.

Please keep in mind that this is a trade show, and that means that many of these products are not available to us – the end consumer, the gluten-free shopper – for weeks, months, or even years. Sometimes it’s fun to know what’s coming down the grocery store pipeline, but sometimes we don’t have enough patience to wait! 

We’re so excited about these products and we hope this post brings excitement to your homes (and your tummy!) as well! We’ll list our favorite in alphabetical order, because we certainly can’t choose our favorites out of our already favorite products – they’re all so good!

With over 3,000 vendors, we sure covered a lot of ground, and this is definitely not an exhaustive list of all the cool products we saw on the show floor. 

Beth, our food editor, for example, just loved seeing all the cauliflower trends on the show floor. She loved seeing new crackers and pretzels, made with cauliflower flour. She also loved seeing cauliflower frozen pizza brands and now even packaged cauliflower flour so you can experiment on yoru own cauliflower-based recipes!

There were so many new protein bars and powders that it will take us weeks to go through and taste them all to find the best ones around. And water – yes, even water gets a makeover at the natural products show. We found functional water with added fiber (yes, fiber), and black water made from volcano ash! We also saw about 20 different gluten-free bath and beauty vendors that are still sorting through – everything from gluten-free bath bombs, shampoo and condition, make-up and face masks galore! It’s not just gluten-free cookies – it’s packed full of all the things you can’t even imagine!
