Health Alert: Screening for Celiac Disease

The U.S. Preventative Services Task Force is asking for public comments on its position on celiac disease screening. In its draft position statement, the Task Force does not recommend celiac screening of asymptomatic persons, including first-degree relatives (parents, sibling, children) and those with associated autoimmune disorders like type-1 diabetes. They cite a lack of evidence.
